Practice for lesson 10 of 15, 9 problems
Practice: Multiplying and dividing fractions
Practice problems with solutions on multiplying and dividing fractions: cross-canceling, reciprocals, mixed numbers, powers and negative exponents, and recipe and woodworking problems.
Review the lessonWork each problem out on paper before you open the solution. If your answer is off, compare the steps and find where you went wrong. If a problem stops you cold, go back to the lesson: every set links to it.

Quick check
Practice 8Quick check
What is \(\frac{3}{8} \cdot \frac{4}{9}\)?
Cancel \(4\) with \(8\) and \(3\) with \(9\): \(\frac{1}{2} \cdot \frac{1}{3}\). The answer \(\frac{27}{32}\) is what you'd get by dividing instead.
Practice 9Quick check
What is \(\frac{1}{2} \div \frac{1}{4}\)?
Two quarters fit in a half: \(\frac{1}{2} \cdot 4 = 2\).
All done?
If you got most of them right, you're ready to move on. If not, reread the lesson and try the ones you missed again in a few days.
